Etsy Loving!

I'm a big fan of Etsy for cute and unusual pieces. I have purchased several kooky necklaces from there and a decal for my Macbook which I lovelovelove! I have always experienced great service and quick delivery times. Here are a few things I am currently lusting over:

Morrissey homage silhouette necklace $26.00
I am a massive Smiths fan and think this necklace is a perfect way to show my love, though I'm slightly worried this actually looks more like Preston from the Ordinary Boys or is that just me?

Custom Shoes made to order $90.00
www.etsy.com/shop/HollyGrothues
Let's face it I am a massive Star Wars geek and these shoes would just complete my life.

Inverted Unicorn Cross T Shirt $32.00

What's not to like? Unicorn and inverted cross equals awesome T-shirt.

Do any of you guys enjoy shopping on Etsy?

Off Work, Will Shop

I was busy busy busy today as I had a day off work and decided to cram in a haircut and colour, eyelashes extensions and a quick shop. So here is a photo of my new hair.

When I went to Dubai Mall I had a quick look in the shops before my eyelash appointment. Forever 21 proved rather lacklustre so I moved on to New Look where I picked up this dress on sale.

Not the best picture (sorry) but you get the idea. If you haven't realised already I love black so here is another LBD to add to my collection. This one has sparkling little diamantes all over it and looks really flattering on. It was 500 dhs (£84) reduced to 150 dhs (£25) so a bargain too.

I picked up these leggings in Topshop for 150 dhs (£25) which is probably a bit of a rip off but I knew I would get a lot out of wear out of them (sure enough they are a whole 5 quid cheaper on the topshop website, oh well).

And last but by no means least.
I treated myself to a reese's chocolate bar from the Hershey's store. YUM!

Eyelash Extensions

Last month I got eyelash extensions as I was going to the Dubai World Cup Horse Racing. I had wanted them done for ages and this seemed to be the perfect excuse. I went to Sisters beauty lounge in Dubai Mall which I would highly recommend. It was 600dhs for a full set which is £100, so pretty pricey but I was really happy with the results.  They looked really full and long with no need for much make up or fake eyelashes which I love to wear but if I'm honest I am not the best at applying them. For the first 24 hours you can't wash your face, wear eyemake up, go to the beach or use a steam room. I loved them so much I decided to go and get them refilled. The salon recommended getting them refilled every two weeks but I went to the UK for ten days and didn't have time to get them done. I finally got around to going today.
I took this photo last night. A lot of the original eyelashes have fallen out during the course of the month but they still look fairly long.

And this is them today. As you can see they look much fuller. Because I left it a month before getting the refills I had to get a half set done and most of the old eyelashes removed which cost 350 dhs (£58) but normal refills are usually 200 dhs (£33). It's pretty expensive but I have already made my appointment to go and get refills in two weeks time. If you are looking for a way to really make your eyes stand out and can't be bothered with the hassle of fake eyelashes I would really recommend getting eyelash extensions done.

And here is a photo of my sister, my mum and myself on the way to the Dubai World Cup. My fascinator was from Debenhams, dress from H & M, tights H by Henry Holland and shoes Can't Touch  This from Irregular Choice.

(All opinions and thoughts are my own and the eyelash extensions were paid for by myself)

Missguided

I have never actually owned anything by Missguided but the other night I had the inkling to go on their website and boy, was that a mistake, my bank account will soon hate me! I was really surprised by the great range of shoes they had and fell in love with every pair. Here are my top three:
Spiked Platform Wedges £40.99
They also come in tan, blue and pink but I'm a true believer that black is the new black.
Tricha Embellished Slipper Shoes £26.99
Nothing warms my heart like a pair of new high heels but thirty minutes after wearing them
my feet ache and I completely hate myself so I am always on the look out for interesting flats,
especially embellished ones to wear on nights out. These ones fit the bill perfectly.
Gretta Super High Platform Patent Shoes £34.99
These shoes really appeal to the six year old in me. They are barbielicious and for less that 35
quid a total bargin.

All of the above are available at www.missguided.co.uk, they also currently have free uk next day delivery
if you spend over £35 which I think is a really great deal.
Anything you guys are crushing on?

Game of Thrones

Does anyone else watch Game of Thrones? I am a woman possessed by it. I love everything about it, the sets, the actors, the story lines. I actually only started watching it last month and have seen every episode aired so far. I am trying to read the first book also called Game of Thrones but I have actually made quite slow progress which is unusual for me as I admit to being an avid reader. I shall blame it on my Buffy box set. My personal favourite is Jon Snow. What is there not to like. Tall, dark and completely gorgeous.  A total fox.  I also love the fact he shares a name with a channel four newscaster, who it must be said is less dishy.

Birthday Blues

It is the depressing fact that it is my birthday in 2 weeks time. I was always really big on birthdays until last year when I turned 25 and realised I ain't getting any younger. So to try and cheer myself up I am on the hunt for the perfect birthday gift to buy myself. The contenders are:
Urban Decay Naked 2 palette. Yes, yes I must be the only person in the world who does not have one of these and I am starting to feel I am missing out. I am a big fan of Urban Decay eyeshadows and have always been impressed with the previous palettes I have bought from them. The only reason I haven't run out and bought it yet is that there is not a counter near me and also I am more just a flick of eyeliner girl.

Jeffery Campbell Blyke Stud in Nude Suede. Currently sold out but I'm on the list for an email when they are back in stock. I already have a pair of Litas in grey and a pair of Night Walk shoes in black. I LOVELOVELOVE my JC shoes and these would be a perfect addition to my small but growing collection.
I spotted this cute yellow dress in Miss Selfridge yesterday. This photo makes it look like a horrible insipid shade of yellow but it's really more of a soft lemon colour with beautiful collar detailing. I am a sucker for anything with a collar.
The Cambridge Satchel is something I have had my eye on for a while. This lilac metallic colour is gorgeous and as previously mentioned I have a serious crush on lilac right now.

The Urban Decay palette is obviously the most affordable out of the above items so I will probably plump for that. I might have to be cheeky and see if I can get my mum to buy me the dress :p

Loving Lilac

After seeing several photographs of Kelly Osbourne with lilac hair it was love. I think the colour looks great and it seems to be gaining a lot of popularity, not one to let a bandwagon go by I decided to bite the bullet and try it myself.
As you can see my hair turned out a lot brighter but after a few washes it faded a lot and toned down to a nice cool hint of Lilac. In hindsight I should of bought a stronger purple dye and mixed it with conditioner to get the shade that I wanted. I used directions hair dye in lilac, applied it to damp hair and left it on for half an hour. I didn't touch it up or top the colour up due to the fact I start back work tomorrow and the colour isn't appropriate. After 10 days it had faded out to a slight grey tone with some  purple still showing through at the front. I really loved it and think I may redo it during the summer holidays. Who says blonde's have more fun?

Black Milk

My current obsession in life is the fabulosity that is Black Milk clothing. They carry the coolest range of leggings and swimsuits that will definitely turn heads. I live in leggings and I am always on the lookout for different colours or prints to add more interest to an outfit and Black Milk have this down to a T.  I have yet to actually part with my cash as there is just too many styles I adore.  Above are my current top three from the website blackmilkclothing.com
