Hey, Sailor!

I received a very special delivery the other day. A belated birthday gift from my aunt. She went into MAC and picked up a few items from the Hey, Sailor! collection which was very, very nice of her.
Here's what I got:

Lipstick in Sail La Vie- a lovely bright coral colour

High-light Powder in Crew- a very soft, with a pinky sheen, powder

Pigment in Naval Blue- a true navy blue fine pigment

Swatches of the products. It's kinda hard to see the high-light powder, you can just make out a slightly pink tinge on my hand.

I haven't really had the time to play around with them yet but I'm excited to try the pigment with my Illamasqua Scribe eyeliner. I love the packaging and I am a sucker for all things nautical so I was always gonna be drawn in by this collection. It's not in stores yet in the UAE so I may be tempted to pick up a few things myself when it does. I have my eye on the Old Gold pigment. I do think the selection of lipstick colours isn't actually that great and my aunt said she found it hard to pick between Sail La Vie and Red Racer but eventually choose the former based on the fact I have quite a lot of red lipstick. I will definitely be going in for a close look at the other two ( To Catch A Sailor and Salute!) when it launches here.

Anyone else been tempted by the Hey, Sailor! collection?

Tis the season...festival that is

So the festival season is almost upon us! It's actually been a good few years since I donned a pair of wellies and joined a bunch of unwashed people in a pile of mud but this year I thought screw it lets go to T in the Park.

But this throws up the whole 'what should I wear?' question. This is a big struggle for me as I am a dress and ballet flats kinda girl and they don't mix when you are in a field with rubbish scottish weather (let's face it, it WILL rain!). Here are a few things I have my eye on for such an occasion:

I have always struggled to find a decent pair of wellies as I have incredibly fat calfs, so even though I can get them on, I think they sit really funny and look horrible on me. The solution for this is....
Vivienne Westwood for Melissa studded booties £90.00
I love the button detail on these with the Westwood orb on them and black is my go to colour of choice. They are also the perfect ankle length avoiding my whole fat calf drama. Perfect!

Topshop Dripping Peace Vest £ 18.00
What could be more festival than a peace sign? The perfect top for skinny black jeans and drinking strongbow.

ASOS Cross Sunglasses Chain £ 4.00
I think these would look great on my Ray Bans and they are only 4 quid, bargain!

ASOS Orchid Flower Headband £ 8.00
Come on, it wouldn't be proper festival post without the flower headband! I love the pearls in the middle of the flowers, bringing a little festival glam!

What are your festival must haves when it comes to clothing?

OOTD- Creature of the Night

Kigurumi: kigu.co.uk
Nail Polish: OPI

How do you spend a day recovering from a night on the tiles? I like to dress as a giant panda, eat kfc and watch a lot of rubbish TV. After a few too many dark and stormys at Mahiki nightclub, my weekend was spent like this. Though I did venture out the house for a mani/pedi. Oooh it's a hard life.
The nail polish is from OPI's Nicki Minaj collection in Fly. I love it, next time I'm gonna try Pink Friday.

Weekly Wishlist

This week I am currently obsessing over:

These awesome diamante spike flat shoes from Soyoushoes.co.uk (£ 30.00). These are right up my street and as soon as they come back into stock in my size they will be mine, oh yes, they will be mine.

Navy sequin mini prom dress from River Island (£70.00). I got a 470 dhs gift card for Mall of the Emirates for my birthday and can't decide what to spend it on. I could get lots of bits and pieces from H & M or Forever 21 or blow it all on this one lovely dress. Decisions, decisions.

Macbeth crop top from Tee and Cake at Topshop. Who doesn't want to pay £20.00 for a bit of Shakespeare in their wardrobe? I think this T will be perfect for summer over my black maxi dress, I will just need to justify the price to myself.

Dopey top (£ 21.99) and Seven Dwarfs cropped pants (£18.99) both from Oysho.
Oysho is my favourite place to buy pjs. They do they cutest designs and they are super comfy too. Every Christmas my mum always buys a new set for my sister and I. They also do really sweet jumpers, cardigans and underwear too. I was lucky enough to get a gift voucher to spend in there so I will be purchasing some new bed wear soon.

Anything you guys are currently lusting over?

OOTD- Born This Way

Dress: H & M
Jacket: Forever 21
Collar: H & M
Leggings: New Look
Shoes: New Look
Earrings: Primark
Ring: Aldo
Bag: Jimmy Choo

So today I turned the very uninteresting age of 26. This is what I wore for a birthday dinner with the parentals. I'm actually having a wee celebration on Thursday so that should be good. My parents got me quite a few things which I'm sure I will post later, but my big surprise was they are paying for me to go see Lady Gaga's Born This Way Ball on the 9th of September in London. AMAZING. My mum printed out the ticket conformation to give me as the tickets are being sent to my aunt's in Scotland. I'm really excited, I've been a Monster for years and never had a chance to see her in concert before :). If anyone is else going, let me know!
